NZ: Thanks Carl

So it was my birthday recently and Ive been thinkin bout things.. you know as you get older you start to do that sometimes. or maybe you dont.. but the point is right now, (for you and me, because I'm writing and your reading) I have..
Givin thanks, tryin to get my feet in the right place for the right moment. Also, coincidentally, I hooked up with an old friend on that ridicules social networking site.. nice to see old faces even if they're only digital depictions of 'em. Anyway, the old face in this case is Carl Cavenaugh. Good Bloke, they say. well.. maybe they dont. not because he aint, its just that he keeps to himself at times.. He knows people, for sure, and People know him, thats even more sure. I never really got the complete jist of it, and thats my fault, but the word is he was a pro for Haro in NZ at some point, one of the few, and somthin went bad, or maybe it didnt. Maybe it was an injury, or maybe it wasnt.
He was/is just about famous.. or maybe he...
not that it matters or he gives a fuck.
for me it was just impressive that I could go to the south island from the north, say his name and some kid whose probably only been riding for the last 3 years knows about this guy. That shit is crazy to me. He's what I would affectionately call a hermit, or was. Like many of us he gets up, has a safety meeting, goes to work welding, comes home, has a safety meeting, rides his bike, and hangs out with his girlfriend.. normal guy.. I dont think Carl has age for me, he just is.. he's one of those old guys who you meet in a bar and just love to sit and listen to.. even if they dont have much to say that particular evening.. or if they ramble about nothing for hours... Im gonna get a lot of shit for writing about him like this but it is what it is.. We had some good road trips in there. Good times and good safety meetings he was a damn good friend in a damn good time.. helped me grow as a rider in a comfortable environment and gave me a home for a few months there. I hope one day I'll have a chance to repay the favor.. Didnt take as many photos of him as I should have, thats what happens when your too busy riding.. If you want, look in the archives for the post on Shed7 that was his creation and his home.. Good bloke. Hope to cross paths again..

J-peg'd: Chacarita 2

these are from the huge cemetery Chacarita. we were under a chapel they have there and apparently these are all police graves/boxes. we werent supposed to be there, but, this may seem cruel, didn't they have enough control in life..?
